Swim Channel, the learn-to-swim programme from Swindon Dolphin Amateur Swimming Club took to the road on the weekend of 21 and 22 October as part of its recruitment campaign to introduce more young people to the sport of swimming.
And the team of helpers and swimmers led by Bridgett Tubb and swimming Development Officer Steve Cryer amassed a staggering 123 new applicants at the West Swindon Shopping Centre at the start of half term.
Swim Channel is the latest way to learn-to-swim with qualified coaches and teachers bringing enjoyment and passion to the correct teaching of all 4 stroke disciplines providing skills for life.
The scheme follows the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) with the potential for new recruits a pathway into the Swindon Dolphin club structure.
Bridgett Tubb said, "it was a fantastic weekend and our thanks go to the West Swindon Shopping Centre and staff for allowing us to promote the benefits of Swim Channel in such a relaxed and friendly environment."
Steve Cryer commented, "this was our second roadshows and we’re developing a very professional way of promoting Swim Channel. The response has been absolutely fantastic with new applicants enjoying the opportunity to learn more about the sport in an informal setting."
