Ovation Dance put on performances and there were walk on parts for Swindon Town FC Rockin Robin and the Willy Wildcat.
Jahmene, who shot to stardom to reach the X Factor finals in 2012, defied the advice of his minders to rest his voice in the cold, damp weather by singing the carol Silent Night to the delight of the crowd.
Town Centre management company InSwindon put on the event which ended with spectacular fire-works. InSwindon manager Rebecca Rowland said: “I was so pleased with how the night has turned out.I want to thank everyone for coming and wish them a Merry Christmas.”
The Old Town Christmas Lights will be switched on by players from Swindon Town FC on 28 November.
