It’s not often that you see a three-seat sofa, coffee table, rug and curtains decorating a local train station, but this week three stations in Wiltshire are getting a little taste of ‘home’.
With just one week to go until the opening of John Lewis at home in Swindon, commuters across the county can put up their feet and relax in style as they wait for their trains.
The John Lewis at home ‘Take a Seat’ roadshow visited platform three at Swindon station on Monday 18, is at Chippenham station today (Tuesday 19) and Kemble station on Wednesday 20 October.
Branch manager Dominic Joyce says: “After months of preparation the shop is almost ready to be revealed. The roadshow is our first opportunity to meet the community and those who travel in and out of the town each day for work.”
John Lewis at home Swindon comprises 39,000 sq ft of selling space following a £7m investment, and includes customer access terminals where shoppers can browse the full John Lewis range online for in-store collection or home delivery.
180 new full and part time Partners (staff) have been recruited from the local area to work in the new shop and have undertaken extensive training over the summer to prepare them for the opening and busy Christmas period.
Dominic adds: “We have recruited a fantastic team of knowledgeable Partners. We are all looking forward to welcoming our new customers into the shop next Thursday”
The new John Lewis at home Swindon opens on Thursday 28 October at 10am on Mannington Retail Park, and will focus exclusively on furniture, furnishing accessories, homeware, and electrical and home technology.
