The new John Lewis at home shop in Swindon will open its doors to customers on Thursday, 28th October 2010 at 10am.
The eagerly awaited shop, on the Mannington Retail Park, will focus exclusively on furniture, furnishing accessories, homeware, electronics and home technology.
Branch manager Dominic Joyce, pictured, says: “We are now just a few weeks away from opening and there has been a great deal of activity on site. The exterior signs went up last week and the contractors will soon hand over the shop to the John Lewis team for fit-out.
“The shop has two levels, a ground floor which will house bath and bed linen, furnishing fabrics, lighting and stationery, and a mezzanine level featuring large and small home electricals, along with the Christmas shop and a cafe.
John Lewis at home Swindon comprises 39,000 sq ft of selling space and includes customer access terminals where shoppers can browse the full John Lewis online range, including fashion, beauty and nursery, and use the ‘click and collect’ next day delivery service.
John Lewis has invested more than £7m in the new Swindon branch and 180 new full and part time Partners (staff), have been recruited from the local area to work in the new shop.
Customers in Swindon can look forward to expert advice from knowledgeable Partners in each department, as well as benefiting from John Lewis’s Never Knowingly Undersold policy.
Dominic adds: “I am absolutely thrilled to be opening John Lewis at home here in Swindon and I can’t wait to meet our new customers at the opening next month.”
