Busy knitters who live at James Wilkes House in Haydon Wick have kept up their production of blankets and baby hats which they recently donated to Swindon Pregnancy Crisis Centre.
In the past they’ve helped the baby care unit at GWH and given large blankets to charity shops in Swindon .
The group was much larger when members were pictured in The Link in 2003 (right) but several members have passed away and numbers have dwindled to seven.
“Over the years we’ve made hundreds of items at our Wednesday afternoon knittathons” said group coordinator Ruby Allen. “We like to keep busy and catch up with things whilst we knit.
“We’re just as busy and we’re always grateful for more wool.”
