Prospect Hospice, the region’s most popular local charity, is asking women with a taste for speed to get in touch to take part in the fourth annual running of its popular Ladies’ Driving Challenge on Sunday 27 September.
The event, in which women raise sponsorship money for the Wroughton-based Hospice by taking the wheel of big, powerful and fast vehicles, is billed as the ultimate driving challenge, and has attracted around 150 women to RAF Lyneham since it was first staged in 2006.
“We’re thrilled to be heading back to RAF Lyneham for this year’s Ladies’ Driving Challenge, and I’m sure we’ll have a lot of women keen to take part in one of our most popular events,” said Prospect fundraiser Hayley Millin.
“All the factors that have made the LDC so successful in recent years will be back again, with diggers, police cars, 4x4s and artic trucks already lined up, and we’re looking to add a new vehicle to the event this year – so my advice is, watch this space!, ” she added.
