ALUN Rossiter has insisted the Robins recent hammering of Coventry will count for nothing ahead of the two teams’ upcoming Elite League play-off semi-final.
The Robins head to Brandon for the first leg before returning home to Wiltshire for the second on October 6, the scene of Swindon’s recent 60-31 victory over an out of sorts Bees team.
While Rossiter is pleased the three play-off sides all seemed keen to avoid the Robins in the last four, but insisted previous results between the two sides are now irrelevant
“It’s a whole different ball game now and it all starts again for everyone,” he said.
“We got to the play-offs and that’s great, everybody seems to be trying to steer clear of us and that’s great, but it all starts again now.
“We can’t be too cocky and thinking we’re the best because it comes back and bites you, we’ve seen that.
“Everybody will be saying that Coventry will be up for it after the thrashing we gave them recently but that doesn’t come into it now and we all start again.
“We’ve got our feet firmly on the ground and we’re gunning for it.”
