CONNOR Waldon has been made available for loan by Swindon Town but the Robins will be very picky over which club takes the young striker on a temporary basis.
Link Sport understands Waldon’s details were circulated around clubs in League One and League Two on Wednesday, as Town see the need for the forward to get regular gametime.
He currently finds himself fifth in the pecking order at the County Ground behind Andy Williams, Jon Obika, Michael Smith and George Barker and, while manager Mark Cooper stressed that Waldon does have a future at Swindon, he looks set to make a brief move away.
When asked whether Waldon had been made available for loan, Cooper told Link Sport: “Maybe, he might have been. We’ve been looking at Connor and I thought he did very well again the other night (at Newport). Obviously with the strikers we’ve got at the moment, it might be a case that we need to get him out to play but it’s got to be a club that we pick and it’s got to be right for his development.
“We’re constantly thinking about the young players and the best path for their development. It might be that one or two need to go out to play.
“He knows that we like him, he knows that he’s got a future here but he has to be patient. It’s important we get through these Johnstone’s Paint games because it gives him a chance to play in a real competitive game”
