SHANE Moore believes Swindon Wildcats’ 2014/15 roster is possibly the most talented he has been part of during his time at the Link Centre.
Moore, who is entering his 10th season in Cats colours, has been impressed by the quality of additions head coach Ryan Aldridge has made to his squad over the course of the off-season, with Callum Buglass, Tomasz Malasinski and Kenton Smith arriving ahead of the new campaign.
With the first English Premier League fixture of the season rapidly appearing on the horizon, Moore has made the bold statement that this year’s Wildcats are the best he’s played with.
He told Link Sport: “I see probably the strongest roster we’ve had in Swindon for many a year
“I’m really happy with the new faces he’s brought in. He’s recruited in the right areas, we’ve got a good young, British defenceman in Callum Buglass and I think he’ll be quite strong for us in the same mould as Paul Swindlehurst was for us.
“I also think the imports we’ve brought in have been upgrades as well. Bringing in Jan Kostal in the back end of last year was a real revelation and he’s been fantastic for the club. Kenton Smith is a proven defender at this level and above and our new Polish guy as well is going to be really good for us.
“When you look at our roster, we’ve got the best British forward in Aaron Nell, the best British goalie in Stevie Lyle and I think we’ve got the best import in Jan Kostal.
“We’ve got some really strong areas but so has the rest of the league. I think we’re strong across all areas and one of the best things is we’ve actually got depth and we’re not going to be reliant on one or two players to do the business and score goals.
“We’re going to get goals from British guys and imports and line one, line two and line three. It’s exciting.”
