SKIPPER Troy Batchelor wants to see a big crowd packed into the Abbey Stadium this evening, and insisted the noise of the fans makes a real difference to the club’s riders.
The Robins trail by eight points going into the second leg of their Elite League play-off semi-final with Coventry, following their 49-41 defeat at Brandon a week ago, with the riders and management confident of turning things around.
Batchelor insisted a packed house would help the Robins as they bid to progress to the final, as well as give the club vital support off the track too.
“We definitely can, when we go round on the parade seeing fans all the way round is great to see and it gives us something extra,” he said.
“The noise brings the emotions up and it definitely helps because we want to go out there and win for the fans.
“You obviously can’t hear the crowd when you’re riding because the bikes are so loud but when you go over the line you can hear the fans and that’s great.
“We want to win it for the fans and it would be great to see as many as possible there.”
