TEAM camaraderie is the secret to Swindon Town’s flying start to the new season, according to on-loan defender Jordan Turnbull.
The 19-year-old has featured in each of the Robins’ 11 matches to date, as Mark Cooper’s men have risen to fourth in League One as well as reaching the second round of both the Capital One Cup and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
While they may have been unfancied by many before the term began, Turnbull believes the togetherness of the squad have helped Town exceed expectations.
“Our away form has been good this year and we’ll be looking to kick on this weekend at Barnsley. I think going into the games everyone has been confident and we’ve been going into the games looking to win,” he said.
“Bradford away was a great win for us. It was different; obviously they’re a big team getting the ball forward but we dealt with it and we’re looking to do it again on Saturday.
“We’re happy with our start to the season. We’ve picked up a lot of points and we’re looking good in the table so we’re looking to kick on from there.
“I think we came into the season as underdogs to do well but we’re going into every game really confident, we’ve got a style of play that is exciting and we’re doing really well. We’re happy with what we’re doing and happy with the way we’re playing.
“Everyone’s really enjoying it. Every training session everyone’s happy and excited to go and train. We’ve got a great group of lads here and we’re all gelling well. I think that shows on the pitch on Saturdays and Tuesdays.”
