ANTON Rodgers’s knee injury is taking longer to heal than the Swindon Town medical staff had originally expected.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder has yet to make his debut for the club after pulling out of the warm-up on the opening day of the campaign with a recurrence of an old problem.
Initially Town said Rodgers would spend two weeks on the sidelines but he has been out of action for almost a month and manager Mark Cooper has no desire to rush him back.
“It’s healing but it’s a little bit slow. What we don’t want to do is take any risks with it and put him back four or six weeks. We have to make sure we get to the bottom of it and make sure it’s right,” Cooper told Link Sport.
“The physios don’t like (giving predictions). We’ve got the best physio in the league in my opinion so when Anton is fit I know he’ll be fit.”
