SWINDON Town have been charged by the Football Association with "mass confrontation" and "failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion" following an incident towards the end of their weekend trip to Leyton Orient.
Three players were cautioned as the result of a melee in the 92nd minute of Town’s 2-1 win at Brisbane Road, after Dean Cox kicked a ball at Nathan Byrne, who was lying on the pitch. The Robins have until 6pm on Friday, October 10 to respond to the charge.
A statemement from the FA this afternoon read: "Following their game on Saturday 4 October 2014, both Leyton Orient and Swindon Town have been charged for mass confrontation by The FA.
"It is alleged that in or around the 92nd minute of this fixture, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
The clubs have until 6pm on Friday 10 October 2014 to respond to the charge."
