Police in Swindon are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of lead from four schools in the west of the town.
The thefts at the following schools are believed to have all taken place at night between the dates detailed:
Oliver Tomkins School between 9th – 11th November
Toothill Primary School, below, between 4th – 5th November
Shaw Ridge School, above, between 10th – 11th November
Tregoze Primary School also between the 10th – 11th November
As a result of the theft some of the properties have suffered significant water damage due to the heavy rain in recent days. Detective Constable Sally Davis said, "The theft of this lead has resulted not only in the expense of having to replace it but more notably the cost of having to repair the damage caused by its removal.
"I would encourage other business owners in the town to check their buildings for similar loss or any possible damage. I am very keen to hear from anybody who either witnessed people acting suspiciously in the areas between these dates or anyone who has information about these thefts to contact the police."
Anyone with any information in relation to these thefts can contact DC Sally Davis on 0845 408 7000. Or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
