‘Tis the season of the turkey…so trot along to Common Farm, Wroughton where there are just 200 free range turkeys ready to make your Christmas a tasty one
A naturally grown bird, raised by Farmers Niall Jones and Stuart Bell (pictured), in an airy barn with three times the legal space, and access to a grassy paddock, could be on your Christmas table having travelled just a few food miles.
“The birds have had a lovely green field and a big barn to run around in since July and have had a completely natural diet of cereals and vegetable protein,” said Niall. “We present them in a convenient carry-home box, complete with cooking instructions and recipe leaflet, and we even include fresh herbs.”
The birds are £8.99 per kilo up to 8 kilos and £7.99 per kilo for turkeys over 8 kilos. A £20 deposit is required when the order is placed.
So if your relatives are getting ready to gobble down Christmas dinner order one of these tasty turkeys. But be prepared to tell your family to stop stuffing themselves, or there’ll be nothing left for Boxing Day. Then they’ll just have to go cold turkey. OK, enough fowl play.
Stuart Bell who has supplied Swindon with Christmas trees for years has his usual wide range on offer.
Common Farm is off the B4005 Wharf Road between Wroughton and M4 junction 16.
