South Swindon MP Robert Buckland has teamed up with leading local company INTEL to help raise much-needed funds for CALM – the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement.
INTEL responded to a request from Robert to support the charity, and they joined forces to present CALM with a brand new ‘Ultrabook’ laptop computer.
Robert has also agreed to support the charity’s annual golf day and is appealing for more teams to take part. It’s being held at Wrag Barn in Highworth on Thursday 21 June.
Robert Buckland said, “I am delighted to be supporting CALM, who carry out such valuable work with children and families who are affected by these illnesses. INTEL have been really generous in donating this computer and I look forward to the presentation on Friday.
“I also hope as many people as possible will come forward to take part in the golf day which will raise funds for this very deserving cause. People should email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. I wish CALM every success with this event”.
Graham MacDonald, Director, Greater Europe Communications Policy Team, Intel Corporation (UK) Ltd, added, “Working with our local MP Robert Buckland, Intel is proud to be able to sponsor the CALM Charity Golf Day and to donate an Intel Ultrabook to such a worthy cause”.
Lucy Young, Secretary of CALM, said, “We are delighted that Robert and Intel have come together to support our charity. CALM is a parent-led support group which helps children and parents take a much-needed break from hospital treatment and eases the financial burden at such a difficult time. This computer and money raised from the golf day will mean we can continue to provide help and support for children and families in Swindon”.
