North Wiltshire RSPCA is appealing for volunteers to help in their Gorse Hill shop, and is also looking for people who can offer a home to cats.
Janine Leigh, committee member, explained, “we have lots of cats in all shapes and sizes who will make someone a great companion. People are keen to have kittens, as they seem small and cute, but you can have just as much fun with an older cat – and they come already house trained
“Our work is so important because it gives animals a voice, but the group is short of funds. We understand that times are hard, but if people can donate clothes, give up some of their time to help out at a tin collection, or think of some new fundraising ideas, then we’d love to hear from them.
“We also need volunteers for the shop, summer fetes, sponsorship, and people who would like to help organise our annual dog show.”
She added that money raised locally stays within the Swindon area.
All are welcome to join RSPCA supporters at a fundraising curry night at Peatmoor’s Bombay Lounge on 5 April. To book a table call 887799.
