Lydiard Millicent Pre-School invites the community to join us at Lydiard Millicent Parish Hall on Saturday 2 November 2013 from 1pm until 5pm to enjoy an Autumn Craft Fayre to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the pre-school.
Entertainment will include a diverse range of craft stalls including: Garden Décor, Silver Jewellery Keepsakes, Raffle, Tombola, children’s face-painting and tattoos, head and neck massages and cakes and refreshments! Fun for folk of all ages!
All funds raised to go to the pre-school. We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase a wooden playhouse for the children.
Caroline McKellar, the pre-school supervisor, first came to the pre-school in Jan 2001 and relates the history of the pre-school:
“The pre-school was established 25 years ago in Lydiard Millicent village hall. Parents decided to set it up to give their children an opportunity to meet with other children before starting school.
"At that time the pre-school was very small with around 18 children on the register and 6 to 10 three to five year olds attending each day and it opened for 4 mornings a week. Over the years the pre-school has grown in numbers and popularity, leading to its rapid expansion. It now operates 10 sessions a week, including full school days and had 56 children on the register in summer 2013.
"The preschool had its second move in 2010 to the old Victorian school building and now offers excellent indoor and outdoor opportunities for children both in the village and its surroundings including childcare for 2.5 year olds.”
