A branch manager has been appointed to lead the team at the new John Lewis at home shop opening in Mannington Retail Park this autumn.
Dominic Joyce will be joining the new branch from John Lewis Reading where he is currently the Operations Manager, Fashion.
Dominic, 34, has worked for John Lewis department stores since he left school 15 years ago when he joined as an A-level Trainee. After completing the programme ahead of schedule, Dominic quickly went on to secure Section and Department Manager positions within the business.
His career with John Lewis has included positions in Peter Jones in London’s Sloane Square and Reading spanning departments from menswear, china & glass and womenswear, to customer services.
Dominic will begin the role in Swindon on 6 September alongside 180 newly recruited Partners. He says: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to open John Lewis’s third ‘at home’ shop. The new shop format, which focuses exclusively on furniture, furnishing accessories, electronic goods and home technology, has been an enormous success at our first site in Poole.
“The John Lewis brand is synonymous with quality and excellent customer service and I am keen to draw on my previous experience heading up Customer Services in Reading to ensure that we build on this reputation and provide customers with a fantastic shopping experience.”
Tim Harrison, head of format development, John Lewis, says: “Dominic is ideally qualified for the role of Branch Manager in Swindon. His long career with John Lewis has given him unrivalled experience across many elements of the business and he is an extremely respected Partner.”
In the lead up to the opening of the new shop Dominic will be blogging about progress on the John Lewis Swindon webpage. To read Dominic’s blog, log on to www.johnlewis.com/swindon
