The Charity Masquerade Ball held at Liquid & Envy in May opened its doors to hundreds of people all wishing to support terminally ill cancer patient Tami Brown.
Samantha Cottrell, 27, from Swindon along with 4 close school friends of Tami’s; Martyn Elbrow, Diana Shepherdson, Katie Henderson & Kate Colman organised a Charity Masquerade Ball to help raise money to aid Tami’s conquest to seek an alternative Treatment that could help reduce cancer cells within the body & increase lifespan.
Tami, 27 from Abbey Meads has been battling cancer since the age of 20. Last summer Tami was diagnosed as terminal and has since been spending her time researching and trialling new alternative treatments to help potentially starve her cancer along with personally ensuring that she feeds her body all the goodness it requires to give her a higher chance of success.
"There is always a choice in life – to fight or to give up – to be happy or to dwell on the negative – the choice is ours!" – Tami Brown.
Samantha Cottrell and her close friends spent weeks working hard promoting the event; when the final night arrived it was a major success!
The official figure, including ticket sales, donations, raffle tickets, silent auction & photography sales raised an amazing £1,300 for Tami’s Wish!?
"I am overwhelmed at the response received; myself and the others organised this event for a truly amazing person and friend; Tami Brown’s bravery is such an inspiration to many. We wanted to return to Tami the love and kindness that she has shown so many people along her journey; by hosting the event we were not only able to raise a significant amount of money towards Tami’s research into alternative treatment, but were also able to provide everyone involved with amazing memories of an evening full of love and laughter – something that I know meant more to Tami than money for her treatment" – Samantha Cottrell
This amazing, once in a lifetime event would not have become a reality for Samantha if it were not for some truly charitable people; Danny Mason of Liquid & Envy, Stu Kirk of ATB Shop, DJs Kelz Clarkson, Fireboy DJ, DJ Craig Knight, saxophonist Craig Timms, photographer Kris Talikowski & everyone else involved who assisted the event by providing advertising and media coverage for the event for free.
“My own charity and support is not ending here. I will be taking part in the 15k Starlight Walk on Saturday 25 June to help raise money for the Prospect Hospice, a charity that have closely helped care and support Tami Brown; amazingly however, not only does the Prospect Hospice support and care for Tami and her family but Tami has also volunteered for the charity, providing help and support for others – truly amazing & inspirational!! – Samantha Cottrell.??
For those that know of the amazing work of the Prospect Hospice or have met the extremely brave and inspiring Tami Brown you will know that no matter how small your gift, this will mean a big difference to a cancer patient and their family. ??Please help by making 2011 the biggest fundrasing year yet for the Prospect Hospice and let’s smash last year’s total of £80,000!!
