MARK Cooper praised Yeovil Town’s gameplan after watching Swindon Town sneak a 1-1 draw at Huish Park this afternoon.
Andy Williams popped up late on to claim a point for Town after James Hayter had slid the hosts in front in the first half to give Yeovil a half-time advantage their high-line, high-tempo hustle and bustle deserved.
Swindon boss Cooper felt his opposite number, Gary Johnson, got his tactics spot on.
He said: “In the first half we weren’t as fluent as we usually are but full credit to Yeovil. They’ve watched us and they’ve pressed us all over the pitch. Fair play to Yeovil for that. What we needed to do was get in with a clean sheet, like we did at Barnsley, and not give them anything to protect.
“We didn’t but in the second half I felt we were outstanding and dominated the game. When you look at the efforts towards the end we could have won the game and we’re a little frustrated we haven’t won with 10 men.
“I think we’ll put it down to Yeovil. They’ve come off the back of a bad result last week and they’ve made a lot of changes. There was a lot of energy in their team but we have to try to be better than that when teams do that to us.
“In the second half we were very good.”
