BRADFORD City manager Phil Parkinson has revealed that Alan Sheehan will be fined "the maximum" the Bantams can charge after the former Swindon Town man was sent off against his ex-employers.
Sheehan, who missed a first-half penalty, was dismissed in stoppage time for violent conduct after an incident involving Swindon defender Raphael Branco as the Robins won 2-1 at Valley Parade.
And Parkinson stressed after the game that he would come down hard on his left-back.
He said: “It’s unacceptable that Alan should lose his discipline like that. We’ve had a poor result but that makes it a really bad day and he’ll be fined the maximum we can.”
“We can’t keep conceding goals the way we’ve done. Four of the last five against us have been from set-piece situations – I can’t remember that happening since I’ve been here and we’re not helping ourselves at all.”
“There was a lot of endeavour, honesty and courage as well. When you’ve lost a couple of home games and go in 2-1 down at half-time you need courage to keep playing and I felt we did that.
“But it all goes out the window with the way we’ve defended those two set-plays.”
