The Cotswolds are a well known and loved tourist destination for visitors from all over the world, all chocolate-box-top and picture-perfect villages.
But all is not as it seems and a new book by an American author who commutes from Hollywood to this idyllic corner of England reveals many ghostly, ghoulish stories full of headless kings, creepy manifestations, glowing orbs, disembodied voices, phantoms, wraiths, blood curdling banshees and hobgoblins.
Diz White and husband Randall Montgomery, whose photographs illustrate her book, have come up with a well researched volume documenting eye-witness accounts, collated with both historic and present-day sources.
