Two very special guests visit Swindon this weekend
Two special guests will make a trip to the town centre eggs-tra special for youngsters during the build-up to Easter this month.
Popular children’s cartoon character Peppa Pig will making a special appearance in The Parade on Friday, April 15.
The following day, Saturday, April 16, the Easter Bunny will be handing out chocolate eggs in the same precinct.
Peppa Pig is a lovable but slightly bossy little pig, whose favourite activities include jumping up and down in muddy puddles, laughing and making loud snorting noises to the delight of her devoted fans.
A hit with parents and children alike, Peppa Pig is the latest in a long line of loveable celebrity pigs, which includes Babe, Miss Piggy, Pigling Bland, Porkchop, Porky Pig and Piglet.
Her appearance in The Parade is sure to cause squeals of joy among pre-school children who have grown to love the British-made five-minute TV episodes of Peppa Pig.
Peppa Pig will be in The Parade from 11am until 3.30pm.
On Saturday 16 April, the Easter Bunny will go into egg-giving mode between 1pm-3pm in The Parade.
However, some of the Easter Eggs will contain an eggs-citing surprise which is likely to interest mums and dads… shopping vouchers to be spent in several Parade shops valued between £10 and £50.
Manager of the Parade Brian Morris says: “Easter is a time for children and we’ve laid on a couple of things for them in The Parade. Peppa Pig is a very popular cartoon; I’m sure there will a lot of excitement among children of a certain age.
“As for the bunny; well, what’s Easter without either a bunny or Easter eggs? Our bunny will be handing out eggs-a-plenty on the day, some of which will contain some very handy vouchers to spend at several of our leading shops here.”
