Priory Vale Ward Councillor Emma Faramarzi is appealing for caterers, musicians, entertainers and volunteers to step forward to help create the inaugural Priory Vale Festival this summer at Mouldon Hill Country Park.
The event comes about following North Swindon’s receipt of a £200 grant from Swindon Borough Council to establish a local community group.
There will be a public meeting about the event at 7pm on 25 March at North Swindon library.
Describing the event, which is still in the early stages of planning, Emma said: “We’d like to stage a medium-sized festival day this year and expand it in the coming years.
It would be good to gather people together with stalls, entertainment, live music and food outlets in a festival to complement the one in Old Town.”
Chris Priddy, one of the residents behind the project, added: "This is OUR thing, not MY thing. North Swindon Community Group – Planning a North Swindon Community Fun Day doesn’t yet really exist. Creating it will be one of the purposes of 25 March.
"So… please come and join me on March 25 to add your ideas to the plan and let’s see what we can pull off together".
Get involved at the meeting on 25 March, stay in touch via Facebook: North Swindon Noticeboard or contact Emma directly on 07983 972630.
