This year the Miss Wiltshire and Miss Swindon finals will be held on the Sunday 27 April, at The De Vere Hotel in West Swindon.
Nearly 100 girls applied to battle it out to represent their county and town in the Miss England finals, and we now have our final 13 who will compete on Sunday for the two crowns.
Traditional pageants have been about beauty and grace, with the Swimwear round gaining a lot of interest, both good and bad for its sexist views and outdated ways.
In 2010 Katrina Hodge, Miss England and serving British Army member got rid of the Bikini round and instead replaced it with the Sportswoman round where potential Miss England’s had to prove they had both the fitness and the beauty to handle the Miss England duties.
This time, for the first time ever, the Miss Wiltshire finalists will be taking part in their very own Bootcamp to get ahead of the other counties and bring that Miss England crown back to Wiltshire.
The Bootcamp will be happening on Saturday 26 April, at 3pm, in Faringdon Road Park and is being run by ‘Beauty and the Beast Personal Training’, which is owned by past Miss Swindon Hannah Golding, who is currently representing England at the Face of the Globe International finals – pictured right by CMG Photography.
Members of the public are invited to come and see the Miss Wiltshire contestants work hard to become Miss Wiltshire, through blood, sweat and tears.
The finals are being run by former Miss Swindon 2012/2013 Ela Good: “I am so excited to see the girls on the night, they have all worked so hard in the run up to the competition and I am sure we will finish the show with two very worthy winners.
"We are looking for someone who is; beautiful, on the inside as well as the outside, has a passion for their town and community, is friendly, charitable, sporty and has the drive to make a name for herself and the county.
"We know what it takes to become the next Miss England and the winners will have our support and guidance throughout the stages, as well as help from our sponsors including hair care by Goldsworthy’s salon, personal training by ‘Beauty and the Beast Personal Training’ and make-over’s by Lifestyle Health and Beauty, to ensure they get the best out of the competition.”
The winner of Miss Swindon will go through to the semi-finals in 2015 and Miss Wiltshire will get the chance to compete in this year’s Miss England finals.
Miss Wiltshire and Miss Swindon is being run in association with Rachel’s Weddings Ltd.
