South Swindon MP Robert Buckland is to hold a new-style surgery for residents – right in the heart of the busy Brunel Shopping Centre.
Robert will be setting up shop from 11am to 1pm, giving people the chance to ask for advice and assistance, or talk to him about the issues of the day. He said, “This is a new idea, allowing me to meet as many people as possible. Usually I hold my surgeries in village halls or community centres, but I wanted to make myself as accessible as possible, and there’s no better place than Swindon’s main shopping centre on a busy Friday!”
“I hope people will take the opportunity to ‘shop & stop’ – do their shopping, and at the same time stop to talk to me. If it gets too busy and I can’t see everyone personally, I will have a couple of members of staff there too, so we’ll hope to see everyone.”
The exact location is still to be decided but will be clearly signposted on the day. Residents with complex or long-running issues are advised to call the Constituency Office in advance, on 01793 533393.
