Parents can learn first aid skills which could make all the difference in an emergency, thanks to a partnership between parents’ charity NCT and the British Red Cross.
In 2013 Swindon NCT trained 138 parents and parents-to-be and are hoping even more will sign up for courses this year.
NCT baby first aid provides a range of practical skills should they ever be needed. Topics covered generally include unconscious baby or child, choking, bleeding, burns, raised temperatures and meningitis
The next courses take place on Saturday 8 March, 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm at Moredon Medical Centre.
The cost is £25 which supports the operation of NCT. Book a place at www.swindonnct.org.uk/firstaid
For an up-to-date list of courses mail: email@example.com to register interest.
NCT Swindon Branch also runs groups for parents and children:
Baby Time – Friday 10am, Lawn Community Centre, for parents and non-mobile babies;
Toddler Time – First Monday of the month, 10am, at NG Kids, Next Generation Gym
