Care at home provider Bluebird Care is set to grow following the signing of a contract to take over the relief care service provided by Swindon Carers Centre.
Swindon-based Bluebird Care stepped in when Swindon Carers Centre decided it was no longer able to run its domiciliary care service for some 30 clients, plus a sitting service for a further 26. Under the terms of the transfer, Bluebird Care has taken over the care packages for all clients, including the Alzheimer’s sitting service clients, and retained all 15 care staff who had been employed by Swindon Carers Centre.
Bluebird Care Managing Director Ben Curtis and Swindon Carers Centre CEO, Diana Finch, signed a contract which will see the transfer of responsibility over to Bluebird Care over the next few weeks.
With the contract in place, Bluebird Care is now actively looking for new staff to train up to join the team as care workers.
“With the 15 people we welcome across from Swindon Carers Centre, we now have a team of about 30 care staff, and are actively recruiting another ten,” Ben said. “We are delighted to have been chosen to take over this contract and will be seeing all our new clients to ensure the changeover for them is seamless.”
The transfer means Swindon Carers Centre can concentrate on its core business, which is to provide support to family carers.
Diana said: “When we realised it was no longer viable for us to run the relief care service, we started to look for a new provider. We chose Bluebird Care because they really fit in with our ethos of providing a personal service which respects the clients and their family carers, and provides security for the staff.”
