A new pharmacy has opened in Redhouse Village which is part of the expanding North Swindon Development. The Day Lewis Pharmacy Group is the largest independently owned chain of pharmacies in the UK. Whilst this is their first branch in the Swindon area, they are well represented in the south and south west of the country with 165 branches as far and wide as Great Yarmouth to Penzance!
However there is a local link!
Long time Swindon resident Richard King, who was born and bred in the town has been working for the Croydon based Day Lewis Pharmacy Group for the last seven years and has been working with the local team to get the business off the ground. Richard commented “Having lived in Swindon all of my life I have not actually worked in Swindon since 1981. I am delighted that I am finally going to be carrying out some work in my home town although it has become unrecognisable since I last worked here.”
Located in Priory Vale directly opposite the Isambard Community School the new pharmacy has been fitted out to the highest standards and is in a position to offer local residents a whole host of services including a full dispensing service, blood pressure monitoring, medication reviews and a free prescription collection and delivery service.
With a large school opposite the pharmacy they hope to cater for the many youngsters who live locally with a wide range of toiletries and medicines.
