‘Conversations with Authors’ is a brand new podcast series available online from Faringdon-based creativity coach Alison Thompson, featuring a wide range of fiction and non-fiction authors passing on their top tips about writing and getting published.
Describing her aim Alison said: “It’s now easier than ever for writers to publish their work. However, there are many pitfalls to avoid, and I realised that every published author has a wealth of knowledge they can share to help other writers.”
The first podcast is with Peter Jones, who was offered a contract with top publisher Harper Collins after self-publishing his book, How to Do Everything and Be Happy.
Also included in the series are conversations with Stefan Thomas, who was invited to write Business Networking for Dummies after a chance encounter at a business show; and Madalyn Morgan, author of a series of books set in World War II, who turned to self-publishing after being let down by an agent.
Future podcasts feature conversations with short story specialist Della Galton, writer and trainer Lisa Cherry, horse healer Charlie Holles and comic book illustrator Darryl Cunningham.
