Swindon College will be welcoming Andrew Miller as its new Principal in January next year. Andrew, who began his further education teaching career at the college, has been Principal at Kidderminster College for the last 9 years .
Andrew, who lives in locally with his wife and two sons said:
"I was delighted to accept the Principal's position as I feel that I have the experience and skills that are well suited to Swindon College.
"My aspiration is for the College to become an outstanding education and training provider, serving the needs of the local community. I am looking forward to working with the students, staff and governors at the College, building on the successes that have already been achieved; working together we can achieve great things.’
Andrew will be meeting staff , students and the key stakeholders between now and Christmas.
Nick Letchet, who has been Acting Principal for the last 18 months, will now revert to his former role as deputy principal. Nick said:
"Andrew brings significant experience to the position and we all very much look forward to working with him at this exciting stage in the college's development ."
Earlier this year the college went through both a successful Oftsted inspection of its further education programmes and a review of its higher education courses. Its work with local employers has been judged outstanding.
Rob Beale, Chair of the college's governing body said: "We welcome the appointment of Andrew and believe he will make a great contribution to the organisation. The Governing Body was unanimous in its approval of the Selection Committee's recommendation to appoint him to the post."
