After a competition encouraging young people to create and design a new logo for The Wyvern Theatre Foundation, a winner has been chosen. The design, by Lloyd Clements, 12, caught the judges’ eye and captured the heart of the Foundation.
“Hatching the stars of tomorrow,” was the thought behind Lloyd’s design, he explains.
Lloyd Clements, who currently attends St John’s, Marlborough, was a participant in The Wyvern’s 2011 Summer Youth Project Anything Goes. “My favourite bit was Blow, Gabriel, Blow,” he recalls. “That particular song meant you could go mad and express yourself.”
The Wyvern Theatre Foundation is a charity set up to advance the education and training of children and young persons in Swindon and the surrounding areas. Through fundraising, the foundation are able to both encourage and support young people and children in all aspects of the performing arts including, stagecraft, scriptwriting, choreography, dance, drama, music and singing.
“We thought the logo was fantastic,” exclaims Wyvern Theatre Foundation’s Dilys Huggins. “It was a unanimous decision from the committee.”
Lloyd Clements design will feature on The Wyvern Theatre’s website, in the Spring 2012 Brochure and all of the Wyvern Theatre Foundation’s promotional leaflets and flyers ongoing.
