Tribute act The Australian Pink Floyd Show will be stopping off in Swindon as part of their European tour next year.
The band will be performing their Eclipsed By The Moon Show at the Oasis on 16 February 2013, which will celebrate Pink Floyd’s iconic The Dark Side Of The Moon album.
The Swindon concert is one of 19 UK dates and will see the band perform other classic Pink Floyd tracks from many of their other albums in a set that will last more than two hours.
The Pink Floyd classic features legendary songs, including The Great Gig In The Sky, Us And Them and the two singles taken from the album, Money and Time.
The album has sold over 50 million copies worldwide, making it Floyd’s most successful album, and remained in the charts for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988, longer than any other album in history.
Aussie Floyd singer and guitarist Steve Mac said: “This album is rightly considered by many to be one of the greatest albums of all time, and performing work from The Dark Side Of The Moon is much like performing modern classical orchestral music.”
Bass player and vocalist Colin Wilson added: “We study every detail of the album as closely as possible. Our performances are about celebrating the history and pedigree of this incredible music.”
The Swindon concert is seated and under 14s must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost £37.50 or £29.50, plus a £2.50 booking fee and are on sale from 10am on Friday (25 May). To book tickets call the Oasis box office on 01793 445401 or visit: www.swindon.gov.uk/oasisevents
