An exciting and unique climbing frame has been unveiled for pre-school children at Jellytots Playgroup which meets in its own building at Brook Field Primary School in Shaw.
The timber construction was designed by playgroup manager Janice John and her husband Cliff who took time off from running his company CJ Builders to construct it.
The structure enhances the large open space available to the playgroup in the school grounds, where children can play under a large awning and have adventure games in the adjacent woodland walk.
Janice said: “We really are blessed to have so much outdoor space which children can explore next to the school field, and do this within a secure environment. Wellington boots and coats are very much part of the kit at Jellytots because we try to go out as much as we can.
“We use our open space to follow the prescribed early learning pathways and give lots of opportunity to children to learn through open ended play. We make the resources available and it’s amazing where their imaginations take them.”
