Meadowpark School in Crickade is celebrating an excellent report from Ofsted after a recent inspection, having achieved outstanding in all five categories.
The inspection took place over three days and Meadowpark received no prior notice.
Meadowpark joins the 12 per cent of independent schools which were judged outstanding by Ofsted last year. The survey carried out by the inspection team revealed that 100 per cent of parents would recommend the school to other parents.
The report praised the progress pupils make thanks to the teachers’ high expectations, experience and skill at making the curriculum stimulating. The report also commented on the friendly, welcoming atmosphere at Meadowpark and how pupils enjoy coming to school.
"We are thrilled with the outcome of the inspection,” said headteacher Rajvinder Kular. “Our approach to educating children in small classes and treating each child as an individual means pupils progress both academically and socially.
"The criteria Ofsted uses to award outstanding has become more stringent recently, so this is a great achievement. I am so proud of the hard work and dedication shown by the teachers not just during the inspection but every day. We set no upper limit on the achievements of pupils and similarly the school will continue to look for ways in which to improve further. We will continue to work with parents to ensure we deliver the best education for their children."
Meadowpark parent Rene Taylor said: “I expected nothing less than outstanding. We moved our daughter to Meadowpark from another school. In the short time she has been there, she has improved beyond our expectations and is working well above her age group."
The Ofsted report stated “pupils make outstanding progress and achieve very well owing to outstanding teaching. They have an excellent range of literacy and numeracy skills.”
“There is a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere at the school and the pupils are very happy and enjoy their school life. Their behaviour is outstanding and attendance is excellent. “
“Pupils show that they are proud of their achievements and of their school and made many comments about how happy they are at school and how the staff always try and help them to understand well in lessons. “
“Teachers have consistently high expectations of all pupils and meet their differing needs by asking questions and providing activities which successfully challenge all pupils, including those who need additional help.”
“The curriculum is very closely matched to the pupils’ interests and needs and staff are very good at using it creatively to engage the pupils in their learning.”
