For a top class evening of family entertainment this Christmas you would do a lot worse than a trip to this year’s pantomime, Peter Pan, at the Wyvern theatre.
1980s TV heart-throb Paul Nicholas stars as Captain Hook – and yes ladies his voice still has the power to woo, especially if you manage to get a seat in the front row!
With the usual slapstick jokes, raucous audience participation, and bawdy cross- dressing (this time, appropriately, in the role of Tink the fairy), this production has something for everyone and is by turns uproarious and hilariously funny.
Pop-tunes abound, accompanied by spectacular dancing, costumes and pirate-technics (see what I did there?). From the moment Nana appears in the little Darlings’ nursery, you know that this panto strikes the perfect balance between the sugary sweet and seasonally silly.
Getting into the swing of the evening is mandatory – and for extra added oomph make sure you take along your best bowling arm and a pac-a-mac.
Your children will be singing the alternative version of the Twelve Days of Christmas all the way home, before falling exhausted into bed to dream of flying with the Lost Boys back to Never Land.
