From great children’s shows to comedy magic, and everything in between, Swindon Arts Centre has something for everyone next season. It’s all happening at Swindon Arts Centre so pick up our new brochure, September – December, from the Arts Centre or go to our website for event details.
Along with a great one-woman show where thirteen of Jane Austen’s most celebrated female characters are brought to life, there’s Cracking Cryptics – a unique show for crossword fans – and, back by popular demand, is the Boy With Tape On His Face. Stand-Up with no talking – drama with no acting? Don’t miss it. Meanwhile, Clever Peter is an award-winning comedy sketch group, described as a cross between Monty Python and The League of Gentlemen, and Imran Yusuf presents his light-hearted satire, masking hard-hitting topical commentary. Or how about joining three of the UK’s best (and nerdiest) performers for an evening of comedy, science, music, maths and interactive experiments?
For the young ones
With these difficult economic times, many people are cutting back but the Arts Centre prices are great value – you could attend a great family show for as little as £25 for four! There are some beautiful classic children’s shows, from Pinnochio, with wonderful songs, great costumes and an ingenious set, to The Jungle Book, an action packed show with audience participation and great songs. And don’t miss The Owl who was afraid of the Dark, a funny tale written especially for aged 3 – 7 (and grown-ups) who sleep with the big light on!
Lazy Sunday afternoon music, Thea Gilmore, Frisky and Mannish, Gabby Young and Other Animals, King Pleasure, Bob Bowles…and so many more – look inside the Guide and decide!
Great value, great shows and great theatre, what more could you ask for?
