SwindonLink is looking to readers of all ages to help brighten up the town – in a virtual sense.
Taking our inspiration from how real buildings around the world have been decorated – see www.favelapainting.com as an example – we want you to show how Swindon could be made more colourful.
The demolition of the BHS store in Swindon town centre has revealed the perfect canvas for your ideas – the unseen John Street side of Alexander House on Fleming Way. Bring this tired white tiled 70s block to life with colour and design.
The gallery at www.swindonlink.com is displaying contributions. Already we have images by Photoshop users Alan Parry, Sam Allen, Jon LeBon and Richard Howell.
We’ll also be printing the most interesting designs in our paper product, Swindon Link magazine.
Download the original photograph below. Submissions in other applications are equally acceptable.
Don’t worry if you don’t have an image manipulation programmes. Jon LeBon has produced a line-art version of the building at the bottom of the page to print and colour, or decorate in any medium you can imagine. Take a digital picture of your work and mail it back to firstname.lastname@example.org You could even nail mail it to us for scanning and uploading to the site gallery at Swindon Link, 71 Basepoint, Swindon SN5 7EX.
And if you don’t have a computer and want to take part, call us on 01793 608840 and we’ll send you a print to colour in or paint maually and return.
We’re looking forward to your inspirational ideas to give Swindon and unusual and interesting look.
