At approximately 7.30pm on Saturday 9 October 2010 a robbery occurred at the bus stop outside the West Swindon District Centre, off Tewkesbury Way, Swindon.
A group of youngsters who had been celebrating a friend’s birthday were waiting to get a bus when another slightly older group approached them demanding cash and threatening them. The youngsters were then chased by the offenders who took change from two of the group.
This all happened by the bus stop close to the health centre and police are aware that a number of other people were sat at the bus stop waiting for their buses
The two people who chased the victims are described as:
First male: white, 15-16years old, short and of slim build. Wearing a dark grey hooded top and jogging bottoms. Second male: white, 15-16years old, slightly taller and of large build. Wearing a shiny black hooded anorak and dark jogging bottoms.
Officers from Wiltshire Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the attack in particular anyone who was at the bus stop at the time. Detective Constable Graham McLaughlin said, “We are certain someone will have seen this taking place and though it may have appeared to be kids larking around we would like to speak to anyone that saw what happened.
"In this case the victims asked for help from nearby security guards who chased off the offenders, if anyone is faced with similar circumstances we would advise them to dial 999 straight away and go to a shop or other busy public area until police arrive.”
