Three Rotary clubs come together on Sunday 23 February – World Rotary Day – to jointly host a fun run in Lydiard Park.
The fundraising focus for this inaugural event is the Rotary Polio Eradication Programme which has been running since 1988 in partnership with the World Health Organisation and The Gates Foundation.
Since then the programme of education and vaccination has enabled the worldwide immunisation of 2.5 billion children against the crippling and often fatal poliomyelitis virus
The 5k run in the park is aimed at the whole family, from the competitive runner to those who wish to participate with young children in pushchairs. Dogs on leads are also welcome.
The run starts at 11am, registration from 9.45. A zumba warm up takes place at 10.45am.
The entry fee is £10 per adult (over 16s), children £5 (5 years to 15 years), free for under fours.
Mail for an entry form: firstname.lastname@example.org or text 07836 507571.
The event is being organised by The Rotary Clubs of Swindon Phoenix , Royal Wootton Bassett & District and Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
