Two Swindon based charities have benefitted from Christmas collections in December by members of Highworth and Swindon Round Table which took place at the Swindon Designer Outlet.
£2,000 was collected and distributed to Fatboys Childrens Cancer Charity and Friends of Swindon Young Carers.
Some of the money was also used to buy four nebulisers for Swindon Asthma Relief which have been passed onto doctors surgeries in and around the Swindon area.
The money was presented to the charities by group chairman Adam Lovett and vice-chairman Matt Booker at The Swindon Designer Outlet in February.
Chairman Adam Lovett said: "Round Table is a social group who’s main aim is to have fun and make friends whilst giving something back to the local community. These collections form a very important part of our annual activities but are becoming increasingly difficult due to member numbers.
"There are currently only 7 members but we are keen to attract more. We meet on the first and third Thursday of each month during which we partake in any number of activities from bowling to microlighting."
