Sarah Rolls joined her first Slimming World group when she was turned down for a sky dive, which she had dreamed of doing, as she was too heavy.
At University Sarah had gained weight, had attended a gym and lost a stone but didn’t continue when returning home.
But now, having lost 6.5 stone and gone from a size 22 to size 12, Sarah just can’t believe just how much food she can eat and fit it into every day life with her family and eating out and always feeling full.
She regularly enjoys Chicken Kievs; omelette, chips and beans; ham and chicken pies; pitta pizzas and chips… can you see a chip theme?
Sarah’s husband eats the same meals as her, no faddy foods, no cooking for 2 and he loves the food too, now eating much more regular healthy meals which fit around his shift work.
Although nervous at her first group, Sarah had the most fantastic warm welcome by Paula her consultant at Abbey Meads group. She quickly embraced it and ‘it has changed her life forever’
Sarah has had a couple of disappointing weeks when the scales might not have shown the loss she had expected but with the group’s support and reminder of just how brilliantly she had done, she carried on, getting stuck back into it and loving the next week.
Sarah joined in 2007 after hearing she was rejected for her sky dive. She joined group that week and the following year was the right weight criteria to carry it out. She set a new focus, to get married in a size 10 wedding dress – in 2009 she got married in her dream dress.
In 2011 Sarah fell pregnant and thanks to Slimming World’s healthy eating plan and partnership with the Royal College of Midwives she continued at her group with Paula’s support, returning just one week after baby James arrived. She lost 1stone 3.5lbs that week and was quickly back to target weight, she then chose to adjust it by another 7lbs. At Slimming World you set your own target.
Sarah’s statistics: Age 29, 5ft 4.5inches tall, lost 6.5 stone, dropped from size 22 to size 12.
