There’s an opportunity to find out more about community management of the building by coming along to an open day between 10am and 2pm at Savernake Street, Swindon SN1 3LZ
There are exciting changes ahead for the halls, as Swindon Borough Council would like to devolve their management to the local community. This could result in a wider range of activities to suit local interests.
There are already a few enthusiastic residents and hall users considering what would be involved in managing the halls, but the existing group are keen to involve lots more people.
If you are interested to come and find out more, you are warmly invited to drop in, find out what is happening in the halls at the moment, and help shape the vision for what else you’d like see happening there in future.
There will be free tea and coffee and a prize draw, a display of local history and a drawing competition for children.
There will also be a chance to give your thoughts on a new name for the hall to reflect the vibrancy of the local community.
If you’d like to contact the group but can’t attend the open day, please contact through Savernake Street Social Hall on Facebook, or drop a note into the hall.
