North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson is calling on all schools in the town to participate in the fifth My Money Week from 3 to 9 June – in advance of financial education being included in the national curriculum.
The week is a new partnership between financial education charity pfeg (Personal Finance Education Group) and Barclays Bank.
pfeg has come up with lots of age appropriate ideas and resources on how to teach financial education to four to 19 year olds. Barclays’ employees will also be sharing their financial expertise and skills in schools.
This year will see extra resources targeted towards disadvantaged young people in both the school environment and the wider community.
Justin, who is chair of pfeg, said: “It has been the proudest moment of my parliamentary career to have financial education included in the national curriculum. I would encourage all schools to participate in June.”
