Visit Swindon Lagoons with Wiltshire Wildlife volunteer wardens Simon Wicks and Gordon Shaw on Saturday 22 September, 10am.
This hidden gem, close to Thames Water’s works at Barnfield, is not open to the public and contains some 20 lagoons along the banks of the River Ray.
A large variety of birdlife including herons, egrets and songbirds populate the area. Grass snakes, slow worms, voles and deer also live on the reserve and the tour could include sightings of these as well.
Tour groups meet at the access gate off the River Ray Parkway cycle path opposite Shaw Forest Park.
Booking is essential as numbers are limited to a maximum of 12. Call Gordon Shaw on 01793 616558 to book your place.
Dogs are not permitted on the reserve and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
