Freshbrook Community Centre is hosting two daytime courses starting after Easter organised by the Swindon branch of the Workers’ Educational Association.
Sew Something Simple
Easy hand sewing projects making funky new things from tired old ones.
Save money by learning basic sewing skills to make clothes last longer, and making things like small bags, toys, brooches; decorating clothes, doing patchwork and appliqué – and other things too!
This course will run on Tuesday mornings for seven weeks from April 22.
Pottery for Beginners
This is a chance to have a go at designing and making a variety of pots and models from air drying clay – so no need for a kiln. You’ll be able to try various techniques to make something you’ll be proud of!
The course runs on Wednesday mornings for seven weeks, starting on April 23.
Each course costs £59 plus £4 for materials – but there is no course fees for those on certain means-tested benefits.
Early booking in advance is essential. Call Jill Ryan-Browne on 07825 450352 for details
