The relaxing sounds of Northern India will echo around the Central Library during a late afternoon concert of classical and contemporary Sitar and Tabla music.
Surmeet and Upneet Singh will be performing at the Regent Circus library on Saturday (22 March) from 4.15pm.
The concert has been organised in partnership with SAPAC (South Asian Performing Arts Centre) and will take place in the library’s second floor reading room.
The duo are active members of the UK music scene and perform regularly as part of the Singhstrings Ensemble and the Indo-Irish group Milun.
Surmeet has been playing Sitar since the age of six. He has performed across the UK both as a soloist and within ensembles and has been an active member of the Samyo and Tarang national South Asian music orchestras.
His brother Upneet is a gifted Tabla player who began learning at the tender age of five. Both are Associates of Trinity College London.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £5 (or £3 for under 18s) and are on sale from the Visitor Information Centre in the Central Library.
