Neil Griffiths, Swindon author, storyteller and creator of the world famous Storysack launched his latest delightful picture book, Sneezy Bear, on 25 July in memory of Dylan O’Neill who tragically lost his fight against cancer aged five on 29 September last year.
Neil had been proud to know Dylan and his family and greatly enjoyed reading stories to Dylan as he fought his terminal illness.
Dylan particularly loved Neil telling him the story of Itchy Bear, the bear who couldn't find what was making him itch so much.
Touched by Dylan's courage and sparkling personality, Neil wanted to honour his memory by dedicating his latest book about a bear that couldn't stop sneezing.
Dozens of families joined the O'Neil family and Neil at North Swindon Library on 25 July for a storytelling spectacular complete with his unique and magical story enactments, with help from volunteer helpers.
The morning ended with the world premiere of Sneezy Bear, including lots of audience participation involving sneezing into paper hankies distributed for the event. After the story everybody left the library to release red balloons into the sky in memory of Dylan.
