The SOLAM 2011 festival will take place on August 6/7 at Roves Farm, Sevenhampton, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN6 7QG.
Now in its third year, the previous two were held at the Mermaid in Christian Malford and the Lyseley Arms in Pewsham, both near Chippenham.
SOLAM is organised by singer/songwriter JC Leonard and is a charitable event, this year all profit will go to a local charity Goldenhar family Support Group. Previously supported charities have been the Halo Trust, Shelter and Help for Heroes
SOLAM is a two day festival showcasing the cream of talent, both local and from further afield. We have so many bands appearing over two stages including Earl Jam, Mortdelamer, Grubby Jack, Coach, Control the Storm, Nudy Bronque, The Bateleurs, and from Essex, a special must see appearance from the fantastic Reach Back and many others, keep watching the website for updated details!
This year we will have traders, rides, crafts, dance, circus & music workshops amongst others. Refreshments will be ably supplied by Riffs Bar who will also have an open stage, so you can take along your instruments and perform there. Roves Farm is also a well-known local attraction with many activities which makes it an ideal location for a family friendly event.
We are going to try something a bit different on the Saturday night this year. From early evening many artists are going to get together to entertain you with a tribute to the daddy of all festivals, we are going to re-create the magic of Woodstock. We have many artists lining up to get involved in this including the great Who tribute band Who’s Who and legendary rock/blues guitarist, Innes Sibun as Jimi Hendrix amongst many others doing tributes to Crosby, Stills & Nash, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Santana etc.so do not miss this. Tickets can be purchased from Holmes Music and Riffs Bar or online via the website, pre-booked weekend tickets are just £20 and include free camping or daily tickets are £10 each.
